You can get emails when new results for a topic show up in Google Search. For example, you can get info about news, products, or mentions of your name.
Create an alert
- Go to Google Alerts.
- In the box at the top, enter a topic you want to follow.
- To change your settings, click Show options. You can change:
- How often you get notifications
- The types of sites you’ll see
- Your language
- The part of the world you want info from
- How many results you want to see
- What accounts get the alert
- Click Create Alert. You’ll get emails whenever we find matching search results.
Edit an alert
- Go to Google Alerts.
- Next to an alert, click Edit .
- If you don’t see any options, click Show options.
- Make your changes.
- Click Update Alert.
- To change how you get alerts, click Settings check the options you want and click Save.
Delete an alert
- Go to Google Alerts.
- Next to the alert you want to remove, click Delete .
- Optional: You can also delete an alert by clicking Unsubscribe at the bottom of an alert email.
Fix problems getting or seeing alerts
Step 1: Check what account you’re logged onto
- Go to Google Alerts.
- Check the Google Bar for your current account.
- If you’re not on the correct account, click your profile image Sign Out.
- Sign in with the correct account.
Step 2: Check your alert’s settings
- Go to Google Alerts.
- If you see a message that says your alerts have been disabled, click Enable.
- In the "My Alerts" section, click the alert you want to see results for.
- To check your email address and settings, click Show options.
Step 3: Check your email settings
If you followed the steps above and you still aren't getting new alerts, check your email account:
- Make sure your inbox isn't full.
- Make sure Google Alert emails aren't going to your spam folder. If you use Gmail, add googlealerts-noreply@google.com to your contacts.
